Inkman
Summary
Inkman is a 2D platformer with a twist: rather than directly control the character, the player must draw the platforms! The player takes on the role of a comic artist facing a mental block, as well as questions of whether or not to sell his comic’s intellectual property for a big payout. Tired of waiting, his comic character, Inkman, comes to life and informs him that he’ll finish the story himself.
This game was initially a two week rapid prototype during the first semester of FIEA, but was later picked up for a further two weeks of polish that included an additional enemy and boss fight, as well as allowing the player to draw springs and pillows to assist Inkman in moving around the world. The game was named the “Best Overall Game” of the 40 prototypes created that semester, and was one of only 10 that received extra polish. It was later presented at a private showing at EA Tiburon.
